What happens when you book me?
Hello brides and grooms to be! Thank you so much for your interest in booking me for your wedding day. My experience of playing at hundreds of weddings over the last 18 years has taught me an enormous amount, and I have streamlined the booking process so that it is as clear, easy and smooth for you as possible.
When you decide to book, I’ll send over a couple’s introduction questionnaire. This is to get to know a bit more about you and your music tastes, as well as getting some basic info. I’ll also send over a contract and a booking deposit invoice. Once the deposit is paid, the date is secured!
We’ll then schedule a Zoom meeting where we will chat through ideas, the vision you have for your wedding, the atmosphere you’d like to create and music choices. I can point you in the direction of some music to listen to and consider if you’re really stuck, or perhaps you’re fixed on it all already! It’s always nice to put faces to the names and make a connection ahead of the day.
I do understand that time is precious, and some couples decide they’d like to just email me, so we can do whatever works best for you and makes this as stress-free as possible for you.
I like to schedule another call 2-4 weeks before the wedding, to confirm choices and timings. And of course we can speak in between should you wish. I’m always happy to discuss ideas over email as well. The final balance is then due a week before your wedding.
On the day I will arrive at least an hour and a half before the ceremony. I will set up in one or multiple areas, according to your booking, and liaise with the celebrant etc, to ensure verbal and visual cues are clear for the ceremony. Then it’s go time!
FAQs
I have no idea what music I want! Can you advise?
I am happy to send over suggestions based on your music tastes and to-and fro until we have it just right for you.
Do I need to choose all the music for our wedding?
Most people choose their ceremony music and then I curate the music for the pre-ceremony, reception, and wedding breakfast based on their tastes and the vibe they want to create for each part. However, some people like to choose some or every song for the reception/breakfast so that they can incorporate special songs throughout the day. It’s magical to see eyes light up mid-meal when the couple recognise a song that is important to them.
My wedding is outside and there is no power. Can you still play?
Yes! I have a great PA system that can run on battery.
Can you play my first dance?
I can indeed. I have often joined evening bands or played with DJs for first dances, and we can certainly discuss.
What happens in between your sets?
Between my sets I put on a bespoke background playlist so there will always be music playing. Some couples like to send me a Spotify playlist for these points.
Do drop me a message if you'd like to arrange an informal chat to see if we're a good fit!
All the best,
Jessie
